Incorporated on 9 November 1983, Gopeng Berhad was established to undertake the management and ownership of the assets and business operations of Gopeng Consolidated Plc, which is a UK based company. The takeover was in effect under a Scheme of Arrangement on 12 April 1984, where the company have been in operations since the 1890s and involved in the alluvial tin mining industry.
At present, Gopeng Berhad’s main business is the cultivation of palm oil, supplemented by short term investments as well as property development. In addition, Gopeng is currently developing pineapple plantation, allocating 1000 acres solely for pineapple. This will basically compliment the activities of the estate whilst providing an alternative source of revenue.
Under its subsidiary, Gopeng Land & Properties Sdn Bhd, the company develops properties namely housing and commercial properties in the town of Gopeng, Perak. The company had developed a total of 328 acres of properties, namely Housing Project (Taman Seri Raia, Perak), Gopeng Industrial Park and Gopeng Commercial Park.

Operating two plants in Padang Rengas, Perak, it has a capacity of 3 million tonnes per year for clinker and 3.4 million tonnes per annum for cement, both of which are for the local and export markets.
In addition, one of Gopeng’s most significant achievements would be its involvement in the design, construction and maintenance of road works in the Ipoh to Gopeng and Tapah to Bidor stretches of the PLUS highway.
